Weekend in Virginia - Kim and Jacob's Wedding

This past weekend we had the honor of attending my college suitemate, Kim's wedding. It was a destination wedding at a gorgeous lodge in Virginia on 5,000 acres of land. Beautiful! We drove part way to Knoxville, spent the night at Comfort Suites (favorite hotel) and drove the rest of the way on Friday. I met the other bridemaids and friends for a luncheon and Josh and the other hubbies went Mexican. It was so good to meet all of the wedding party that I have heard so much about.

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner, country theme. It was the perfect night for a rehearsal outside in the fields, and we had a lot of fun taking lots of pictures. The rest of the evening was spent eating delicious food (homemade by the owner of the lodge, very tasty), telling funny Kim and Jacob stories/memories, listening to music and enjoying a late night of fun with the girls.

Saturday was another beautiful day among the mountains of Virginia. A true blessing after a week of rain. Saturday morning we had a bridal breakfast, which was really neat, and then it was off to get beautified for pictures the rest of the day. The afternoon brought lots of pictures and visiting. The wedding itself was really special and perfect for Jacob and Kim. The reception meal was delicious, the music and conversation great and lots of laughs on the dance floor (complete with an "air band" performance by Josh and 3 other friends). The rest of the night was spent visiting after we bid bon voyage to the new Mr and Mrs.

Sunday morning we had a worship/praise service outdoors follows by another delicious meal. We began our long trip back home, with a brief stop in Tennessee to visit with Uncle Kyle, Aunt Mary and all the kids (Maggie graduated high school on Friday).

We were tired but had a fantastic trip and loved visiting with all our dear friends!
