Just a brief post about our 34 week check up yesterday. We got to have an ultrasound to see how the babies are positioned and to get an estimate of their weights. We were pleasantly surprised (shocked would be a better word) with the results.
Baby A (girl): measuring at 36 weeks 0 days, 6 lb 2 oz., basically head down and in position (she is a little diagonal)
Baby B (boy): measuring at 35 weeks 0 days, 5 lb 8 oz., still in a transverse position.
We were pumped about their weights....we were hoping for 4.5 pounds and were going to be ecstatic with 5. There is a 10% error rate either way, but even on the small side, they should be between 5 and 5.5 pounds. Good news!!
I checked out well, weight and blood pressure-wise. I am 1 cm and 70% effaced (sorry if that is TMI:) The doctor said he could see me going 2 more weeks or we could go any day and babies would be ok. Let's hope for 2 more weeks!
Things now seem VERY real. We are definitely getting more excited (and I am getting more apprehensive with the reality that these babies have to come out somehow!) Thank you for all your encouragement and prayers. They have definitely been felt and have helped us get as far as we have, 34 weeks 3 days. God bless!

Good NEWS!!! So exciting! Are you having a scheduled c-section or are you going to try to have vaginal births with them? Just interested! :) Can't wait to see pics of those healthy babies outside of the womb!
ReplyDeleteHi Morgan! If they stay in position as is, the doctor is going to try a regular birth. I am trying to be prepared for either scenario:) We will not have a scheduled induction or C-section until 37 weeks, if we make it that far:)

ReplyDeleteWe are so excited -- Dad, Robin, Eric and Nicole, Shaun and I spent last evening trying to guess names -- cannot wait to see what your choices are. We are praying that everything continues to go well, but are so pleased with the report you got yesterday!! Love you!
ReplyDeleteJosh and Rachel,
ReplyDeleteWe couldn't have heard better news! We praise God for his wonderful care of you and the babies. Looking forward to holding those little ones soon! I don't think I can guess your names, but I am sure they will be perfect!
