5 Month Update

Time for a 5 month update! Actually past time as the twins will be 6 months old next week. Here are some pictures and things that Kailyn and Isaac are doing in their 5th month of life.

(Sorry for the lack of visible hands...they are always in motion!)

Kailyn at 5 months:

- weighs somewhere between 12 and 13 lbs (I stopped weighing her b/c it was stressing me out)
- eats 6 times a day
- wears 0-3 months clothes (still)
- wears Size 1 diapers
- eats a solid food with 3 of these feedings (oatmeal, rice cereal or an orange veggie currently)
- takes 3 naps a day, usually 2 naps of approx. an hour and a half and one short one of 30-45 min
- sleeps about 10-11 hours a night (7pm to 5ish), then back to sleep for another hour after eating
- is still fully swaddled for all sleep times
- starts each sleep time with a pacifier
- can put herself to sleep and BACK to sleep now. Yeah!!
- LOVES eating solid foods, can't seem to get enough
- chews on fingers and toes all the time, with toes and socks being her preference
- pretty warm natured
- has crazy curls on the sides of head, no idea where that is coming from!
- hair is becoming very light
- in CONSTANT motion, is really never still
- loves playing on the floor, in exersaucer, swing, bouncy seat, anywhere
- enjoys looking at Isaac and reaching for all things he has in his grasp (also has been known to take these objects when no one is looking)
- talks, laughs and coos all the time
- extremely pleasant almost all the time
- loves to be talked to
- loves to chew on blankets and burp cloths
- can roll over from front to back and from back to front, but rarely does anymore
- wants to stand all the time
- still very curious and can be very distractable
- nicknamed "Sticky Fingers" b/c she grabs EVERYTHING in sight, especially hair!
- still loves her baths, except getting hair brushed
- is a very sweet, lovable baby who brings us lots and lots of joy each day


Isaac at 5 months:

This is something I love to see him do....he always props his feet when we take our daily walk

- weighs somewhere between 14 and 15 lbs
- wears some 0-3 months clothes, but 3-6 months are starting to fit better
- wears a Size 2 diaper
- eats 6 times a day
- eats a solid food with 3 of these feedings (oatmeal, rice cereal or an orange veggie currently)
- takes 3 naps a day, usually 2 naps of approx. an hour and a half and one short one of 30-45 min
- sleeps about 10-11 hours a night (7pm to 5ish), then back to sleep for another hour after eating
- uses a sleepsack for sleep times, with NO pacifier
- has become a major tummy sleeper since we took his positioner away
- can put himself to sleep and BACK to sleep now. Yeah!!
- likes solid food ok, but could take it or leave it at this point
- chews on fingers and toes all the time, with his thumb being #1 (yes, he is a thumb-sucker!)
- gives lots of slobbery kisses
- is getting pretty thick hair, which appears to be brown
- likes to blow bubbles and squeal
- wants to be sitting (not laying down) all the time
- loves with toys, in the exersaucer, swing, etc
- enjoys looking at Kailyn and always looks around for more people in the room
- talks, laughs and coos all the time
- loves being around people and gives smiles freely
- loves to be talked to and sung to
- likes to play with faces
- can roll over from front to back and from back to front (which he does constantly)
- still very curious
- has been known to headbutt and actually gave his Mama a bloody lip recently
- LOVES baths!
- is a very sweet, cuddly, happy baby who brings us lots and lots of joy each day
