6 Month Update

Half a year old already!! Yes, time for the 6 month update (actually, past time:)




Kailyn, at 6 months:

- weighed 12 lbs 7 oz at 6 month checkup
- eating 5-6 times a day (2 of those are now bottle-feedings)
- have begun to dislike the bottle:)
- eating solids 3 times a day (still LOVE food!)
- open your mouth as wide as possible for solid foods
- take 3 naps a day (2 over an hour and one short one)
- sleep 10-11 hours at night, mostly in a row
- are still fully swaddled and take a pacifier for naps and bedtime (which will change beginning tonight)
- wear some 0-3 month clothes still, but are finally fitting into 3-6 months
- still in Size 1 diapers
- have the biggest, gummy smile
- have really become very active, playful and super happy lately
- still have crazy curls which are only getting longer and more curly
- are beginning to look more like your Mama
- love to play with Isaac and grab his face, hands, hair, toys, etc
- like to watch and play with your own hands
- can sit up by yourself for about 10 seconds (love to sit)
- are rolling all over the floor and loving it (finally!)
- still startle fairly easily
- are not scared of the camera anymore. Yeah!! Our pictures are turning out much better:)
- like to give big slobbery kisses after eating
- are very busy (don't like to be still), playing with exersaucer and ANYTHING you can get your hands on
- have the best laugh, and it comes out mainly when your Daddy is around:)
- continue to be healthy, happy and an absolute joy!




Isaac, at 6 months:

- weighed 14 lbs 10 oz at 6 month checkup
- eating 5-6 times a day (2 of those are now bottle-feedings)
- eating solids 3 times a day, starting to be more excited about eating solids (oatmeal is favorite)
- like to be sung to while eating
- take 3 naps a day (2 over an hour and one short one)
- sleep 10-12 hours at night, mostly in a row (starting to sleep from 7pm to 6ish am!!)
- sleeping on your tummy is the preferred position, as close to bumper as possible
- wear mostly 3-6 month clothes, but they are getting tight
- in Size 2 diapers
- love having company and being in crowds and on the go
- will let anyone hold you and love to touch their face
- hair is getting a little darker and becoming thicker
- are beginning to look more like your Daddy and the Steeds
- love to play with Kailyn and grab her curls
- like to play with dishtowels and burpcloths
- fold in half when trying to sit on own
- are rolling all over the floor and very quickly! Are also starting to "scoot"
- are becoming a little more quiet, observing things around you
- have a great belly laugh
- like to give big slobbery kisses
- love your exersaucer and anything that makes noise
- are becoming more cuddly and wanting to be held more
- continue to be healthy, happy and an absolute joy!
