Saturday, January 28th

Saturday was a day of several firsts for the kiddos so I decided to do a separate blog post. Our first event of the day was going to two of our nephews' basketball games. They both played at the same time on different courts, so we just sat in the middle and tried to keep track of both. It was a lot of fun, and I am very impressed by both of them. They each scored several baskets and seemed to know what they were suppose to do.

Only picture I got of them together.....cheering on their teammates

I-man was captivated the whole time, barely moving on Aunt "Nows" lap.

Miss Shy had her head buried for half the game...until the Goldfish crackers made an appearance.

After the game, Josh took the kids to the park so I could run some errands. Then, after naps, we headed to the mall for some shoe-shopping and dinner. While at the mall, we decided to take the kids on the carousel, as they have never ridden one. I'll let you guess who enjoyed riding on a horse, and who didn't:)

A little hesitant at first, it sures seems a long way down there! He eventually enjoyed going up and down and repeated his ride ("up, down, up, down") from the confines of his crib later that night.

K, on the other hand, wanted no part of riding on the pig you see behind me. She emphatically told me "no" several times, so we just stood behind the boys and held on to a pole. She seemed to enjoy that:)

Finally, after a delicious (and messy) meal at Ruby Tuesdays, we topped off the night with a few rides on the mechanical cars. Minus the quarters:) The kids didn't know any different.

  1. Your trip to the mall is SO reminiscent of my days with A & P. we spent many days playing with no quarters on those toys! :)
